Overstay Charging Policy for Joltie DC Fast Chargers
1. What You Need to Know
Joltie’s DC fast chargers are cutting-edge solutions for electric vehicle (EV) charging, offering significantly faster charging times compared to conventional AC chargers. This speed makes DC fast chargers ideal for short stops, ensuring efficient use of charging stations and facilitating quick user turnover. To optimize resource management and prevent delays in charger access, Joltie implements an overstay charging policy across all DC fast chargers in its network.
2. When Does Overstay Charging Apply?
The overstay fee is activated after the charging session is completed, either when the user manually stops charging via the Joltie app or when the vehicle’s battery is fully charged automatically. From that moment, the driver has a 30-minute grace period to unplug the vehicle and vacate the charging spot. During this time, the Joltie app sends notifications to remind the driver to plan for a timely departure.
What happens after 30 minutes?
If the vehicle remains connected to the charger beyond the 30-minute period, an automatic overstay fee of €0.10 per minute (plus VAT) is applied until the vehicle is disconnected. This charge is processed via the registered payment method in the Joltie app, ensuring a transparent and hassle-free experience.
3. When is the Overstay Fee Not Applied?
The overstay fee is waived in cases of technical issues or malfunctions affecting the charging stations.
